For several years the quest for more power from the classic 45-degree V-Twin motorcycle
engine has been accomplished with the use of "Big Bore" and "Stroker Kits",
pushing the limits well beyond what is considered to be practical for street
use. Wayne R & D, Inc. is proud to announce the release of its "Peregrine Engines" product line. The radically new, V4 Engine, is designed to satisfy the ever-increasing demand for more power by adding more cylinders, rather than increasing bore and stroke to the extreme. By utilizing the vast array of Twin-Cam Style engine components available on the market today, we can offer endless combinations, increasing torque and horsepower, not to mention a look that will surely turn heads! An internal drive system that allows for an optional drive ratio of 0.84:1 (overdrive) provides for lower cruising RPM and higher top speed. Intended for use in custom street bikes and trikes, our three base models to choose from, are the "Falcon-176", "Falcon-190", and "Falcon-206", ranging in horsepower ratings of 125-hp to well over 200-hp. For those who desire still more power for racing or other demanding applications, engines can be built with off the shelf "Big-Bore" and "Stroker Kits", to obtain an insane 300-hp or higher. |
Standard options include: Bore of 3.750" or 3.875" Stoke of 4.000" or 4.375" Selection of Pistons, Heads, Push Rods and Rocker Arms Internal Drive Ratio of 1:1 or 0.84:1(Overdrive) Choice of Carburetors or EFI Electric Compression Release Silver or Black Powder Coat Finish Polished or Chromed Covers Twin-Cam or EVO Style Mounting* Custom Options: Custom Cams Custom Powder Coating Colors Custom Billet Covers and Components Your choice of available performance parts and kits *NOTE: All engines require the use of a custom frame or frame modification. |

Engine tested, mounted in a Harley-Davidson, FXD Dyna Super Glide chassis using stock
transmission and primary drive with the exception of a heavy-duty clutch and
1.5 kW starter. Frame was stretched 8-3/4" between motor mounts, 9-1/2" in backbone
and 3" in down tubes. Engine setup consisted of a stock Twin-Cam 88 crankshafts,
cylinders, heads, intake manifolds, carburetors, and stock exhaust pipes
with high flow mufflers. Andrews Products produced the custom cams, based on
their 37G model and provided the S&S Cycle cam gears. The engine is designed
with several unique features, currently being prepared for patent application,
including an integral drive system utilizing a jackshaft for output to the primary
drive. An internal drive ratio of 19% overdrive was used in Dyno Tests as shown
above. An engine set-up the same as above, with a drive ratio of 1:1 is expected to produce over 150-hp and an excess of 180-ft/lbs torque. Other configurations
will be made available with the capability of producing well over 200-hp. |
